Before the year is over I wanted to post about Inktober 2017. This was the first year I participated in this online event that has grown to include thousands of artists around the world. The challenge is to do a drawing in ink every day of October and post them online with the Inktober hashtag (I posted on my Facebook Fetcher Sketcher page and in a couple FB artists’ groups I’m in). I further challenged myself to draw straight off with ink only, no preliminary pencil, and to draw from life not photos. I managed 29 daily drawings plus a couple extras to make up for a lost weekend, for 31 total. Here are some, including a few of the sketches I did of my own dogs which I know I will treasure in years to come. Enjoyed the challenge and look forward to next year.
