“Kizzy”, mixed media of an English Cocker Spaniel

Here is “Kizzy”, a recently completed portrait done mostly with watercolor and colored pencil. I enjoy how montages show different aspects of a pet. In this case I initially had the head study and sitting pose photos to work from, and requested one or two more pics that were different such as an action shot. Since it was a posthumous portrait, sadly no additional photo opportunities were possible but the owners were able to supply the shot of Kizzy in the field. It was taken from a distance so somewhat lacking in detail, but very helpful in adding variety to the montage and showing Kizzy in her element as a field-bred working English Cocker.
