My studio assistant Tonka is 15 and 1/2 years old today. I’m happy she is still with me, and try to take things a day at a time since an exploratory surgery last fall found abdominal tumors, and she’s recovering from hurting her back recently. Over the weekend she and my other oldster Dilly (almost 13) kept me company while I got three new oil paintings started and made more progress on the pen-and-ink.
