I just finished a pen-and-ink of Bee, the 2017 National Field Champion for English Cocker Spaniels. It is fun and a bit of a challenge to create these montage style portraits, which like this one are usually a main head study with additional “scenes”. And I have several works in progress of oils of a couple horses and four dogs.
With my old girls’ health issues keeping me close to home and vet, I am getting quite a bit of art done on the weekends. But I need to find a new DVD series to “watch” while drawing and painting (obviously I mostly just listen). I haven’t had TV since it went digital so instead borrow DVDs from the library. Some favorite shows have been Bones, Rizzoli and Isles, The Closer, Nashville, Project Runway, and Alaska the Last Frontier. Just started Call the Midwife and am liking it. Sometimes I borrow movies, but they usually have me stopping to watch more, while with a series when you get to know the characters it’s easier to just listen.
